Hello, I’m Alex. A full time freelance illustrator/artist, writer and storyteller based near Swindon. I live with my young family in the Wiltshire countryside along with the soppiest ginger furball cat, the tiniest elderly tabby and a fabulous pair of Pugs.

When not out on storytelling visits or working with school groups I can often be found in my studio creating work in a myriad of media from paint and pencil to charcoal and ‘Procreate’.

As an illustrator I love the opportunity to work with both new and established authors (Everyone has a story to tell and it’s really inspiring to hear different people’s tales). For over 5 years I have been bringing their stories and characters to life with over 50 books published and hopefully many more to come. Over the years I have gained experience of different paths to publication and can help prepare and edit books ready for publication using ‘Adobe InDesign’ software

I can create simple 2D animation for advertising/stories using ‘Procreate Dreams’ software that can be for a variety of purposes eg. social media campaigns, public performance, product promotion, presentation pitches.

I am an avid reader of stories, some of which I find inspiration in for writing my own. A lot of the books I have worked on or have written can be found on my Amazon Author page as well as Waterstones.

As a storyteller I’m available for a variety of events; private parties, care home sessions, school visits – I have enhanced DBS clearance. Click here to contact me to arrange a booking.

I saw a documentary recently about the tapestry which explored the history behind it and showed artists attempting to recreate the exact colours of the threads […]
